Healthcare in 3D Terms and Phrases

Adverse Event
A negative consequence of patient care. The term is commonly used to describe an unexpected, inappropriate, or inconvenient medical occurrence in a clinical investigation.
Atomic Event
As the phrase implies a singular indivisible event, one or more of which triggers one or more Episodes of Care.
Event
Specific medical occurrence, such as an episode of illness.
Potentially Preventable ER Visits
An aggregate or indexed future outcome for Preventable ER Visits that is used to calculate value.
Potentially Preventable Surgeries
An aggregate or indexed future outcome for Preventable Surgeries that is used to calculate value.
